Thanks guys...pardon my ignorance but 'duty cycle'? I am not sure what you are referring too...?

I am using the truck to tow a 3 horse trailer, in BC Canada (mountains) LOL trips will be 2 -3 hours mostly. It won't be used as a run around too much as i have a company truck for work and an older Chev that I'll keep for a little while yet (91 with 100,000 miles..lol)

I think you will be pleased if you make your purchase. Mine has 27K on it and is mostly used for daily commuting (about 15 miles each way) monthly 5'er hauling and lately a bunch of draging the smoker from event to event (1100# tongue wt, 4200# of plate steel) I have had no issues to date.

Well, the deeds done! New 08, (85km) quad cab Larime 3500.

I think I am going to like this truck and I do think I got a reasonable deal. Paid 44,800 CDN (about $36,500 US)...they threw in 2 extra keys (4 total), side tubes, brake controller, molded mud flaps and reduced the admin fee by 50%...and ofcourse Ramm coffee cups and a cap.

I had test drove a 2006 that was at the Ford dealer it had 45000 km (28000 miles) and they asked $35,000 CDN... I offered $30,000 ($24,500 US) and said...I am going across the street to the Dodge dealer, here`s my cell no. talk to your mamager and call me if its a deal.

Then i went to the Dodge dealer and said...Here`s my offer, and i want thisd and this and this... and if your manager agrees...before the Ford guy calls... you have a deal!...That salesman picked up the pace like youi wouldn`t beleive. LOL.

So what would be the very FIRST thing, you guys would add to the truck......

BTW... thanks for all your comments and suggestions, it been very helpful...(a giving bunch you are)

Welcome John, I have a 2008 2500 Quad 4x4 Laramie. I now think I should have bought a 3500, but the price was right. It was "used" since it had 2400 miles, but I am the first owner.
Things to watch: 1. sooting up of the turbo; Dodge added a kit to the turbo to fix the problem. 2. Early maintenance for axle fluid (15,000 miles/~25,000 km): gaskets via internet $108 US, fluid at dealer $42/qt but $5.00 at Walmart [GL-5]. 3. Occasional hickup by transmission; no known reason. 4. Having too much fun with jake brake.
I enjoy it since it really outtows my old ('99) Chevy Silverado 6.0 liter; I sold it with 154,000 miles after spending $$ for replacing a warped manifold and other parts.
I really like the way you got them to deal with you. I'll remember that for the next time I need to buy a vehicle. Best wishes.

John, how you drive this beast is most important. Most engine problems are caused by driving like grandpa

Drive the stuffing out of it! I just got my new 5th wheel and everywhere I go you have to drive out of the valley, and believe you me I'm not the last one out. coming back in tow/haul mode EB on no touching the brake I LOVE it
