Lightbulb Hello from newbie

Hello, you have a very informative site here. I am driving a 98 early production 12 valve 5.9 2500 with 90,000 on it, used for maintenance and plowing of a 1300 acre Scout Camp. We are looking at new trucks and I was looking for some opinions on how the 6.7 is on mostly off road and non highway short runs? I have been a Dodge truck owner for manny years and have been very happy with our current truck, after the Rock Ram steering and Lukes Link Adjustable track bar additions. But I am concerned about the egr components on a short run, plowing driving style. Thanks in advance for your input.

If she's being worked it doesn't matter to her, 1st or 6th gear she'll be happy. What the 6.7L doesn't like is stop and go traffic and just ideling around. You might entertain the thought of a Hemi for medium and light duty and keep the 5.9L for real work so you can have the best of both worlds without the worry of clogging up the DPF if the truck does just putt around at times.

Thanks for the info Squid. looks like we will be going to gas as I was told today I can only order a 2011 and I don't think I want to be a test subject with the DEF.

Unless you get a C&C you won't have DEF on a 2011 Dodge.
