Hi Tim, I hope your friends don't give you too hard of a time over the dodge, mine did as well for a bit, they will get used to the dodge and if they are anything like my friends see that it is a fine truck. I was looking at a 2008 ford super duty when I bought my dodge, a 2008 quad cab,2500,big horn/slt,4x4 with the diesel, and manual trans. my truck has the 5,200lbs. front suspension, and I have not heard of the frames bending in the front from plows, dodge has a snow plow prep package for gas engine trucks :snow cheif/snow comander ? I am not an expert on them , but there is plenty of people /information available on this site so you came to the right place ,hope you get an answer soon...and welcome...

Welcome Tim, I cannot answer anything about the plow issue. Just be careful with the superchips tuner and plowing. If you plow at the highest setting, you will fill the DPF fast and not reach a point where the regen cycle can clean the filter. I tow using the towing position when going into the mountains. This seems to work well while not generating dp's at a rate that the regen cycle cannot handle

Thanks All. If We Everget Any Snow I Plane On Turning The Chip Down To Try Out The Plow. I Got A Realy Good Deal On The Plow Set Up So I Could Not Pass It Up. What I Did Not Know Was When I Called My Dealer I Have Been Useing To See How It Would Affect My Warrenty. Thay Said That My Truck Does Not Have A Warrenty Anymore Because Of The Plow. Does That Sound Wright Too Yous ?

Time to change dealers. The frame, and axels are exactly the same with or without the factory plow package. The factory snow plow prep package only includes a 160 amp alternator and a skid plate for $250 CDN on the option sheet. The dealer is blowing smoke.

Yup, even the Auto 6 speed tranny was designed with snow plowing in mind 68RFE Service Interval and Filter Part Numbers

Quote:
The 68RE in our trucks was designed with snowplowing in mind from the beginning by Chrysler engineers who engineered the 68rfe without any bands which eliminates breakage issues from the past. The input shaft, UD shaft, OD shaft, output shaft, UD clutch, OD clutch, 2C clutch, overrunning clutch, and the entire planetary geartrain is larger to handle much higher torque numbers. Transmission fluid pump capacity is increased to improve fluid flow through cooler and reduce overall transmission heat. Also, the 68 has a significantly higher reverse gear ratio compared to its predecessor, which reduces heat generation during plowing
