Hey guys, hate asking so many dang questions, but im looking at biting the bullet and getting either a volant or S&B intake, thats a given. But I am wondering if through the state laws I can eliminate my muffler and resinator and run the bull dog straight from the dpf back and still pass inspection. I want to give my truck some tone, but not have any concern with the state boys. Also I dont want to void my warranty, afterall I just got the grey goose out of the shop yesterday. I know some of yall have installed the dpf/egr delete kit but that indeed can void your warranty so I have been told. I am just looking to add a little power and sound but to stay legal.

I have my muffler off and it does not make it louder. It,s not like a gas engine that gets loud with no muffler. I think for state law the muffler falls under noise ordinances.

I've lived in states where it's about the DB level and then I've lived in States where you actually have to have a muffler installed for inspection.

Hey guys, been out for a while, I live in Waxahachie tx, near Dallas and Fort Worth.
I was told that if i am to install a delete kit, then I could be out of state compliance and be a pretty good ticket if caught. |

I am not sure about the resonator on your 6.7L truck, mine in California has catalyst, DPF, and muffler. I thought all 6.7L where setup the same .... I removed the muffler and installing a 5" DPF back exhaust had no change in sound. The catalyst and DPF is muffling everything. If you do a complete smog delete, you will need a resonator and muffler to quiet it back down to normal. If sounds too much, they will get you. I know a person at work with 5.9 and open pipes, wow, loud, still can figure out why he has not be ticketed yet.
