Default 2011 ho cummins dually

Hello, I am new to the forum and am in the process of buying a 2011 Dodge with the HO Cummins diesel. I was wondering if there are any issues or problems with the Cummins diesel. I have owned Fords for many years, but after the last two I am not doing it again.A 2005 and a 2008.Need I say more. Also should I go manual or auto? One other question I have is what wheelbase to pick? Thanks michael

If you want the HO output you have to go with the Auto. Manual numbers are unchanged at 350/610.

My preference is for the long bed and the automatic. Of course, the automatic is necessary since my arthritis doesn't tolerate the manual shifting. I like the automatic since I don't have to shift gears with a clutch; I do use the shift lever button to down-shift when descending in the mountains. Great function; so is the air brake. I like the long bed since I tow a fifth wheel trailer and I have a large truck camper (TC). If you haven't decided on which model, I suggest you make a list for what you think you will use the truck. If you have kids, by all means buy the QuadCab or the Crew Cab. I learned the hard way, 4 doors are essential when you have kids. If you think you might use a TC at some time, buy the 3500; it doesn't cost much more and will provide more payload. Have fun; I have driven the 2011 and they are nice.
