Default 2009 6.7 l

I have been reading about problems with the 6.7 L Cummins relating to the emissions issues. Most mentioned loss of power and some expensive cleanings, I think, after only a few thousand miles and also low fuel mileage. I also noticed that most of these posts were from 2007. I am wondering if some of the glitches are out of the 2009 engine. I am considering a 2009 Ram 2009 6.7 L Bluetec with 8K miles on it. Wondering why it is being traded in with so few miles on it.

I have an 09 with just over 9K on it. I have had no problems with it. It is not A daily driver the only time it saw that was to break the motor in for towing . I has plenty of power I pull a 40ft (4)horse trailor with living quarters~ 10,750lbs empty. In 6th gear (3:73 Rear)the motor is has a ton more power left . Everything on it is stock

If you don't work it as it has been designed to do, you can plug things up. Don't use it as a daily driver unless you can drive it at hwy speeds and get it to regen every few days.

Like they have said before me these trucks don't like to putt around town. They need a load and time on the highway to keep the DPF clean. It's true that the emissions are working better now that the software has been updated but you can't get away from the DPF and the regeneration process to keep the filter clean. I have one of the first trucks made and am getting ready to go over 100,000 miles with the original Turbo and DPF but I don't live in the city.
