doesn't work for me either. I have an 08 Quad Cab Lone Star 4x4. just got my second ECM lite. only been 1600 miles since last one. And I don't want to hear about "its how you drive it". been running down the highway at 70 and using the EB. This is my first Dodge and if it keeps this up, not going to have it very long.

Depends on the code. 2262 is the Sliding Vane fault on the Turbo and the sliding Vane doesn't care how fast you drive, it cares how hard you drive it. So what's the code?

Damn, and he said he didn't want to hear that
Yup, it's all about exercising the turbo. A few wide open throttles help a lot...Like squid said, if it's a different code let us know...We are here to help

If I knew the code I would be more than happy to provide it. Reading the posts, it looks like this works on 07 models, but I haven't seen a post of it working on an 08. I have tried it several times. It don't work on my truck. What RPM's "slide the vane"? On the "on ramps" I have been accelerating fairly heavy, getting RPM's up to 2800-3000 and I have been using the exhaust brake. Both times this has occurred was just after trailering. The truck doesn't run any different, it still runs just fine. I just have this CEL and whistle when I start it now. Going in to the dealership again Monday, going to have a long talk with them. Maybe they can tell me how to get the code. Question: Will this CEL ever clear itself if a condition is cleared or is it on until the dealer clears it?

The pictures are there so if you can't see them they are probably being blocked by either a browser setting or a firewall setting. As for the Cel it all depends on the code whether it will go away or not. This is one of the reason most of us have at least an edge insight so we can see and clear the codes ourselves along with knowing when we go into Regeneration, Boost level and Exhaust Gas Temperture (EGT). If I knew what your code is I could look it up in my manual and we'd get a better idea of what's going on. The truth is that most of the Techs know less about these engines then we do because all they do is what the TSB or manual tells them to do.

The sliding Vane doesn't go by RPM. It works on load/Boost. Cummins 6.7L Turbocharger Information This will explain both the EB and Turbo operation.

It will clear itself within 3 drive cycles if the condition goes away. This is a great truck but requires some handling. If you are looking at this truck long term, get something to read codes, review egt and boost. This helps you understand the workings and required handling of your truck...
BTW, be sure to get the code number from the dealer and let us know what it is. I would doubt that the code has anything to do with the turbo. Based on how you drive with the EB on and hard accelerating.

Drive it like a hooker - Hard with no guilt - Because the motor can handle anything you throw at it . I dont baby my truck at all and never had a code show in 7K miles. In alaska the fuel will cost you as much as a hooker but you can't put a price on a smile!!!
If you don't want to spend the good money on a programmer you can always go to Shucks or Napa and but a code reader for $50-$100 bucks.
