Default 2012 Cummins 6.7

I have ordered a 2012 Dodge 2500 Laramie with the 6.7 engine with delivery next month. I plan to unplug the EGR as soon as I get it. After a year or so I will do the DFP annd EGR deletes. I thought I read something a while back that before I take the truck in for servicing, plug in the EGR and then disconnect both batteries for 10 minutes and this will remove engine the EGR trouble code from the memory - is this correct. If not is there any way I can prevent my dealer knowing I unhooked the EGR? Thanks in advance.
