Default Engine light and 2 codes

Well less then 24 hours after installing the by pass oil system I get an engine light and two codes. p0471 which is an exhaust pressure something, and p0513 which is invalid slim key. Crap! Now what.

Sounds like phantom codes since they have nothing to do with each other. Will your truck start?

As for the exhaust pressure code there's a sensor that can be cleaned. Pop the hood and you'll see a stainless steal tube that runs from the exhaust manifold around to the front of the motor. The sensor is to the right and above the tube and can be cleaned with MAF cleaner.

If you have the ability to clear the codes I'd just clear them first before I tear the truck apart.

well that was easy, no charge they just cleaned out the tube, no sensor replacement.

I think that was a phantom of some sorts. In my research I had seen where that code would show when you would do the 3 on/off's without taking the key out first. They wern't worried when I called and said that "that was nothing." All is well in the end...I guess

i just had this problem on my dads truck we switched to the spare key and cleaned the sensor code went inactive and i cleared the check engine code. we replaced the battery in his other key. for what ever reason the code wouldn't show up on my reader but when cycling the key it came up. try that hopefully it helps.
also the dealer says to take a very small drill bit and drill out where the steel tube goes into the sensor housing to clean it up if compressed air wont help.
