Default Service manual

I couldn't find the original thread for the Dodge service manuals.

I just ordered one from my deal and went to use it and find out its web based and NOT a stand alone cd.

For those of you who have the service manual is your the same???

Hi John, the manual uses Internet Explorer or Firefox to display the contents but you don't have to be connected to the Internet to us it. Disconnect your internet connection and give it a try.

I did notice it wouldn't run in firefox, which is my default browser, but did in explorer.

You do have to install the SVG viewer software to see the wiring diagrams.

That I did and since it wouldn't run in FF, I don't know if I can still view the diagrams with out being on the net. I tried IE8 at work and it was ok, but I was logged in then..lol.

So tonite I'll try it again, now that SVG is loaded, and not log in.

I did find some of the wiring details a bit hard to read...not like the good ole days of 'manuals'...

If it looks like this then all you need is your browser and no connection.

The Tech Authority is an online subscription and there are also some online sites/dealerships that have the same thing.

Yes it's slow but it is also a lot of info to access and I doubt I could flip through the paper manual any faster.

Default how much info does the cd have ?

Hey, not to intrude but I was wondering if the cd was a full shop manual, engine specs and all. I have an Alldata subscription which shows almost nothing about the engine and how to repair anything ( it doesnt even show the crankcase filter ). Thanks and again, pardon the intrusion.
