Default More info for the 09 6.7l guys ... maybe others too !

Ive been reading alot out at cummins.com. Often there is reference to the Engine Serial Number (ESN). To find the ESN as stated on the Cummins site

"The engine dataplate shows specific facts about an engine. The dataplate is typically located on the engine rocker lever cover, but may also be located on the side of the gear housing. The engine serial number and CPL provide data for ordering parts and service. The engine dataplate must not be changed unless approved by Cummins Inc."

The label should be on the valve cover toward the windshield end of the engine opposite the Oil Fill hole.

Also referred to often is the engine family.
I was unsure of the engine family that my truck fell into.
I spoke with Tom at Cummins support .. very nice guy very willing to help.

I obtained the Cummins engine serial number then called Cummins who provided the following :

"Dodges are all in the ISB family. The general term ISB covers the 5.9l and 6.7l. ISB CM2150 refers specifically to your new 09 6.7l."

and finally .. the Fuel-Water separator ..

According to the Cummins ISB CM2150 (6.7L) Owners manual --

" Maintenance Procedure at Daily Interval
* Air Intake Piping - Check
* Fan, Cooling - Check
* Air Tank and Reservoirs - Drain
* Coolant Level - Check
* Fuel-Water Separator - Drain
* Lubricating Oil Level - Check
* Aftertreatment Exhaust Piping - Check"
