Without something to tell you it's regenerating like the Edge insight or an EGT probe and gauge it's been my observation that when unloaded and regenerating the exhaust brake just doesn't seem to be as strong. The other thing with my truck is when it's regenerating it's a monster meaning when you step on it it's like a jet with afterburners. It just accelerates faster then when it's not regenerating. One other way to tell is put the average MPG up on the overhead display, reset it and watch it. When you take a significant MPG hit it's regenerating. When the MPG number starts slowly rising again she's done.

im looking at two guage sets the bullydog watchdog or the edge insight, i think from what i read the insight is the way to go... I don't think the watchdog displays regen status? anyone know?

On my 09, the pyrometer visibly increases temp readings and if you step outside you can smell the burning process.

If you are looking for a guage setup, Edge insight is the way to go. Dodge/Dealers do not have a problem with it. I ran into lots of problems with Bully and they know how to detect it even if removed and un-installed. Bully does show regen status but in a different way than Edge.

Edge will show you if in regen or not (via a yes/no answer) and much more that Bully does not.

Hope that helps.
