I have been playing with my Insight for a month or so now, and I am curious how close the CAT B1S1 and CAT B1S2 temp readings are compared to temp reading off of a EGT pyro?
I don't have the pyro, but on the highway the CAT B1S1 reading is about 800-900 and in regen will spike around 1200F...seems to be this would be very close to the pyro readings?

From my experience on my truck, the factory temp sensor at 65 MPH / 1800 RPM with no load/cruising (egr unplugged) .... my temp is around 525 F. When regen kicks in, under same conditions, its around 1085 to 1100 F.
Based on factory sensor, info I got from Edge and others, the turbo will be around 200 F hotter which seems right from what I have seen on friends setups. So add 200 to the number while not in regen and I you get roughly the turbo temp. Hope that helps. I use the factory sensors since my major concern is dpf temp / regen while working a ranch with tall grass. Hope that helps, Roberto

Here's a dumb question if I go ahead a buy an Insight (read money burning a hole in my pocket) and I decide later to add the juice can I just purchace the juice w/o the attitude and run everything from the insight or is the attitude the only thing that will change the settings of the juice?

You will need the Attitude. The Insight and Attitude have different connections unfortunately.

Reading the CAT temp during regen may prove to be as hot or even hotter than a traditional EGT reading
