I believe Geno's is $60. thanks to Squid's link. I would have gone that route, however, I need to get it done. So I will order another before my next 40k miles.

Message must be showing to perform reset as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (But do not start engine).
2. Press and release the brake pedal two times.
3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

NOTE: If the indicator message illumination when you start the vehicle, the “Perform Service” indicator did not reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.

Well went ahead and got mu ccv filter changed in the truck tonight. Took me about 45 minutes. Truck just hit 65000 miles and from what I can tell hasn't been changed before. Old filter is a charcoal gray and doesn't appear to be saturated or have much difference in weight

Default CCV Filter Change

Appreciate the post!!! After the Perform Service message appeared I went to the dealer to see what the damage would be to do the service. After being told it would be $650 I researched this forum and found your post. The pictures are worth a million words. I did the entire filter change in 30 minutes.

Keep up the great post with the pictures.

i juat changed mine at about 45,000 ater i joined this fourm. When I pulled it it was dripping with oil. what a joke! I will be checking the new one at about 20,000 and see where it is then. I see everyone here is saying chage it at 30,000, but I dont want to foul my turbo. I think a 75 dollar CV filter is better than paying $1000 to $1500 for a new turbo! thanks squid for the great post and pics!
