Default What the..............

What the h3ll?!? I just read an article in Forbes magazine where the Dodge 3500 was listed as the #1 vehicle to avoid. They called it a clunker. What gives? Has anyone on this forum had those kind of problems where you would call the truck a lemon? I haven't read of any problems here anywhere near a lemon condition..... Or is Forbes just bashing large vehicles in general?
The article was published as a side bar on the ABC News website.

At least we're in good company along with Mercedes and BMW, LOL.

As I read it they looked at fuel and maintenance cost along with depreciation. When you consider that I bet over 90% of these trucks are sold to businesses and driven by people who don't own them (Like Rental Cars) I probably would agree and sure wouldn't buy one off a used car lot. As for my experience after almost 75,000 miles.................... I absolutely love this truck.

Does the Cummins cost more then a V8 to own? Yup, but I don't have to worry about if I can tow or haul something which is worth every penny to me and my MPG is right around the 17 MPG mark which is what the Queen gets in the Nissan Titan but I do pay more per gallon.

Exactly! It seems to me that most of these reports are either biased toward small vehicles or fail to take into account WHY the vehicle was purchased in the first place. You can't haul or carry very much in a Prius..............

Too bad they don't know what to do with these trucks! Then they would rate them #1 best truck to own to pull what ever it is you what to pull.

I guess Dodge pulled their advertising $ from the Forbes Mag.

That is why when I was in the market for a truck that did what I wanted, I did my own research ! I did not rely on some stupid reported that is full of it. I talked to people that owned a variety of trucks and asked questions. Those that own Dodge Rams with cummins where very happy and the trucks performed better than expected. Those that owned others, had a lot of complaints about reliability and lack of power. The problem that I found with our Dodge's is that its way to easy to overload them since the engine is so tough that it does not even notice. Can not say that about others.

Yes, if think you are going to use a 6.7L engine w/DPF for local shopping hopping ... WRONG !! These trucks are not built for kids to drive, they are serious work horses and need to be handled as such. Once you learn how to handle the needs of the DPF, everything works DAMN well !

I am very pleased with mine and would purchase another in the same exact config at the blink of an eye. Change out the engine from Cummins to something else, forget it !

Who gives a #$% damn what Forbes Magazine thinks or says!? All the vehicle that they recommend will have long been crushed when my truck turns 500,000 Kms.
