Default We like (love?) our trucks, but what really irks you?

I always see threads that talk about the usual suspects (emissions, injectors, general brand bashing, etc...) but usually not anything beyond that or any more specific. I would like to hear what really irritates you about your Ram, and I'll get it started:

1. Drivers door rattles, even on smooth surfaces.
2. Interior: though the design is much better that previous trucks, why do I get the same interior in my $55,000 truck as a $16,000 Caliber (plastic quality, certain components, fit and finish)?
3. Does the transmission need to slam that hard when towing or in tow/haul mode?
4. Small cab (but I knew that going in. This is my second quad and I'm just a glutton for punishment)

One positive: I get the same mileage towing a fiver brick as my Super Duty did pulling on the hitch: the difference is my Dodge is about 20,000 combined while the Ford was only 10,000. Take that, Ford!

Drivers rear door, the controls don't work, too lazy to open it up and plug it back in.

Is it me or does the body dent easier than other makes. It appears that after two years I have more small dents that haven't affected paint or finish than my other trucks. My last two pickups were in service for a total of 11 years and seemed to have less dents Fords they were?????

Real test of how thin the metal is; open a front door all the way and push on it as hard as you can. The cab structure will flex. Try that with a Ford- ain't happening. Thinner metal means lighter weight but without the fuel economy benefit.

Pushing on the fenders reminds me of how flimsy the Geo Metro used to be; I actually left a hand print in a Metro fender supporting my weight against it.

Over the years I've owned them all. Every make has its strengths and weaknesses. With that said, I have put more trouble free miles on the Dodges and other Mopar products that I have owned, than I have on the other makes.
I bought this truck to keep for 10 to 15 years. It has 137,000 KMs on the clock now (driven only 6 to7 months each year), so at this rate, at 10 years it will have about 400,000 on it. From what I have seen, the average Ford Power Choke or GM Maxipad would not make that without major work. JMHO

Hard down shifts in tow/haul can be cured by dealer.
In tow/haul empty with engine brake on, Going down hill,Mine would chirp the tires 3/2 downshift.
Update for tranny cures that.
I think you also need a good mech to install the update. And take it on a road test.

Really the only thing that irks me about my 2500 is that my 1500 had more interior room, but other than that, I am MORE than satisfied with it. It does what I need it to do and then some.

The fact that the front tie-rods and ujoints are a known weak point on these trucks but Ram does nothing about it. U-joints and Tie-rods shouldn't fall apart under 100,000 miles.

1. some wind noise around the doors.
2. The Exhaust brake switch in the middle of the lower dash is a dumb place. It should be mounted on the gear shift or on the steering wheel.
3. Like Rock7 said, the jerky down shift in tow/haul mode. (What is the fix the dealer can do?)
4. The cheap plastic chrome on front of hood around grill. Dam pressure washer puts bubbles under it.

I must say I never have had a plugged dpf warning with 115k miles and still stock, turbo never been cleaned or replaced.

Squid: Ive never had issues with tie rods or u-joints. 115k on my 07 and 160k on the 95 2500 and 175k on the 96 2500. Guess I've been lucky.

It's the road salt used in States that get snow which eats the cheap rubber boots.
