Default Downgrading (Somewhat)

Well I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm seriously thinking about trading in my truck in for a 2006 Dodge Ram Mega cab SLT 2x4. This one has the 5.9 Cummins. It's the fuel and monthly payments, mpg getting 12 to 13 city and 18 hwy. w/ the 5.9, I can get around 20 city and 30 hwy.!I can also tow 500lbs more w/ this truck than I can w/ what I own now. It was very nice to own a Laramie! I drove to Ok. yesterday afternoon (300 miles round trip) and back to Frisco to look at a pretty nice one (looks just like mine on the outside) except it's a 2x4 and not a 4x4. I might go down to Bandera, Tx. on Tuesday and check out another similar truck but it's Atlantic Blue Pearl exterior and not white like mine. What are your views on a 2006 mega cab 2x4 with a 5.9?

Well I'm a proud owner of a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab w/ a 5.9L Cummins! On the way down to Bandera, Tx. in my 2007.5, I got 17.8mpg doing between 65 and 75mph. On the way back to Frisco, Tx. doing around same speed I got around 24mpg! I was getting about 21mpg around town also. I will post pics after I rest up some. 6.5hrs drive time to on Tuesday evening (left town around 7pm) and 6.5hrs. back to Frisco today makes me pretty tired. Even though is site is primarily for 6.7L's I want to stick around because this site seems to offer alot of info for diesels. Unless any of you know of a very good site that deals w/ 5.9L's.

StarGazer; we won't dis you, you are more than welcome to stay and visit with us, besides I think there is plenty of straight up 5.9 info from the members here, you have had issues with yours and you may be able to shed some light on them for the rest of us. Knock on wood, mine now has 66,000 miles and no issues worth mentioning yet.

I thought this was only for 6.7 users, I never really paid any attention if anyone had a 5.9. I will miss my other truck cause I never had anything so nice before! I will post a how to fix question where I'm suppose to.
