Default Diesel

I have a 2007 2500 Ram Mega Cab with the 6.7 Cummins turbo diesel.
As we all know i have tu use the ULSD DIESEL. My question is, Sometime i go to the gas station and the diesel pump have the sticker for the ULSD but it said it is blend with B11. Can i use this diesel? I am confused because it said is an ULSD. We are only to use ULSD or B5.

Good question, the fact is that Bio actually produces less Diesel Particulates and should run fine in the truck. There is concern about more water in the fuel but (and this is my own opinion) I would try it. Note that B5 is the limit per your owners manual without addition fuel/water seperation. Another question is, what is blended with B11? B5 means 5% Bio. Is this B11 or a blend that really produces a lower percentage of Bio? In any case, I would try it.
Also note, that Bio acts as a mild solvent and as you use it, you may have to replace your fuel filter sooner depending on the condition of your fuel system.

The other reason for the stated limit in percentage of bio is that the solvent effect that was meantioned above can work at dissolving or damaging the seals and hoses in the fuel system. This I believe is mainly on older vehicles but the auto companies are being cautious.
I know of several people with late models who are running as high as 50% bio and I've read about guys with 6.7 Cummins running 100% bio diesel.
I haven't tried any yet but I've read a lot about making it. At this point there is no reliable source for bio diesel near me and I don't have the room to set up my own plant.

I called customer service at Dodge today and they gave me Cummins customer service number. I called Cummins and the said the only blend of biodisel with ULSD they recomend is with B5. So if it said blend with somthing else other than B5 do not use it.
I am afraid that a lot of gas stations are going to start blending their diesel fuel and we are going to be SOL.
