Default Another reason for Gauges

Well, before I bought my fifth wheel and the 3500 dually, I had a class A motor coach. I always liked the coach better because it was more fun getting to where you where going. So, I traded my 5er for a new A coach. Problem is, I love my truck and do not plan to get rid of it anytime soon. So, I need to find ways to drive it without creating problems. I've watch my egt gauge closely and determine that I can keep the regen temps up higher and longer by not driving with the eb on when it's in regen. The eb will instantaneously bring down the temp. when it engages by the engine defueling and blocking the oxygen need for combustion. When in regen, if you turn the eb off, you will find that even when you remove you foot from the accelerator, the temp stays higher. If you use the tranny to decelerate, it stays higher yet...Can't do this procedure without gauges IMHO

Nice observation Vis that I'm going to have to check out. I wonder if this is true when just driving with no regeneration?

By the way, got a picture of the new ride?

I have noticed since I installed guages that I can now tell when the engine is going thru regen.

Yup, knowledge is power...I've noticed that my highest regen temp. comes about 1600 rpms 4th-6th, with the eb off.
