Default 6.7l owners ....

I asked this same question on another forum ..

In my quest for the truth, I exploited another resource. myCarStats: Auto Recalls - Reports on file: 15,528. Plus Car Ratings and other Car Reports.
I added my truck under 2009 RAM 2500 Quadcab 4x4, 2009 RAM 2500, 2009 RAM 2500 Quadcab
I searched for complaints .... I found a single complaint .. had to do with steering. Nothing at all about EGR, SOOT, WATER, DPF ....

I cant help but wonder why ? I certainly dont doubt that these issues are truly a concern...much like the 4.7 and 5.7 stalling issue and wobbly seats ...

What I dont understand is why those having problems dont post where it counts.... collectively. To be honest, not see any numbers at all make me question how wide spread the issue really is ...

You left out one possible choice, none of the above. The only problem I've had with mine is the recall issue with the sensor when the 6.7's were fairly new. It caused mine to be hard to start. No problems since they fixed it. So I vote "none of the above"

I've had a bunch of Phantom code issues that have gotten fixed by flash updates (Finally after driving me insane) but other then that and sometimes the frustration of having to wait for the new Flashes to come out I'm still running the same DPF and Turbo after 70,000 miles and am still very happy with my truck.

Hope you don't mind that I edited your poll to add "none of the above" to it.

I haven't had problems with those things as well , and I think the people who are having problems in those areas are (IMO)either modifying the truck for a lot more performance or not doing the maintenance the truck requires, or possibly not driving/using the thing right as these trucks love to be worked, not just drove to work 2 mins. from your house at idle, with no load. I have had problems with : windshield wipers not working,(has a safety recall) door speakers rattle: will be looked at 11/4/09, cab lights leak water in cab: will be looked at 11/4/09, and a saftey recall on front drag link on 4x4's all are going to be addressed at dealer on 11/4/09. I have 23,000 miles on my 08 and have had it a year and two months..I have noticed the truck does have a drive ability problem : in its as delivered tune it has a hick up or as some say bucking problem between say 1400 and 2000 rpm when you go from a mild acceleration to a "cruise" light throttle possition, and they have new flash updates all the time trying to work all the "bugs" out as so many people have different driving styles and uses for these trucks I don't think the engineers could have dreamed up all the parameters to get every situation right. I hope now that mine is going to the dealer they DON'T re flash mine to the latest program or add the boot loader or what ever they have decided to do next, I can deal with the hick up as I know when and how it happens with my truck and can change my driving style to avoid it from happening all together.. I can't speak for all the 6.7 owners , I just know owning, driving and maintaining this truck has been a real learning curve. I hope you get the answers from your poll to help you out.

25K miles later (use the truck for a pile of 6 to 12 miles runs weekdays and 1000 mile runs on the weekend and 4x4 action ...) and only issue has been recall notices ..... Happy with the truck !

How about the 2009's? Didn't they pretty much have all these issues corrected? Also has anyone heard any real world experiences with the 2010's? I've heard that they are supposed to be ok for about all driving conditions.....

2010 should be going UREA injection (spelling ??) vs diesel injection on DPF regen .... Much easier and does work in all conditions. Works with a much cheaper DPF.

If so, mileage will be going up for sure. Less programming complications and the UREA solution can be purchased in concentrate which makes enough for 50K miles.

Hope Cummins comes up with a retrofit our existing models !!! Not sure if applies to all diesel models, know the C&C for sure to start with.

Are you sure the 2010 ram 6.7 is going to urea? I haven't heard that

Chassis cab models are supposed to go to it first. That was published awhile back. With FIAT sticking their fingers into things, I would not be surprised if it gets delayed. I saw docs and presentation materials on it. If I find it again, I will post it.
