Default 2010 or 2011 Ram 3500 with the Cummins?

So I just went over 77,000 miles and I'm really happy with this truck, engine, transmission package but I'm also wishing I would have spent the extra $ for the Laramie. The only thing I can't decide on is if it would be worth waiting for the 2011 model so I thought I'd ask all of you what you thought or know.

Dodge - All-New 2010 Ram 2500 and 3500 - Capability - Powertrain

The Queen wants the heated/ventilated seats so she votes a 2010 and then trade for a 2012 or 2013, LOL.

I have the Laramie and glad I went with it. It makes the wife very happy with the heated seats. If you upgrade you will not be disappointed with the Laramie.

I have to agree with the Laramie package. In my search for this truck We did not need all of the "stuff" they come with (The 96 is just an SLT). But, The sun roof is really neat here in the desert Southwest, The heated seats definetly keeps the Queen happy on those cold mornings (me too), Dual climate control (Wished the 96 had them). The interior trim package is pretty nice.We sure have been glad we spent the extra for the Laramie. I think if you are going to spend that kind of money, for a small percentage more you get a luxury car interior instead of a utility class interior.
As far as 2010 or 2011, sort of sounds like she wants a change sooner than later.

My wife's new Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel has leather seats with heat. They sure are nice. The Jeep is a Laredo, so, no wood grain. The leather, sunroof and a bunch of other options came as part of the 3.0 diesel package. I really like my truck the way it is but wish that it had a console in the front. This would give us heat and air in the back seat. I went with the SLT when I bought the truck because I have never liked the fake wood grain in the Laramie.

What are ventilated seats? Are they air conditioned now? Didn't offer that option on my 09' that I'm aware of anyway. I'm real happy with my Laramie but I know I'd have been happy with a cheaper model as well. It's all about that Cummins and I was a Ford guy. It's so quiet in there it reminds me of the big block Chevelles. Performs like one, too. One thing I did like about my Ford...... it was paid for.

mine is a slt/bighorn and it has the yes fabric , it works good for me as a machinist as I get dirty at work, and so far has held up well/been easy to clean.. but I still think I should have went with the laramie as well, I don't think you can go wrong with all the added benifits, and with the 2010 up, the interior has been redesigned as well so thats also a big plus, as my 08 is more like a 73 dodge pick up interior than a newer car interior, Im glad they updated the inside of them to go with the great power train.

I had wanted to keep this truck for 6 years or 300,000 miles because we all know the hit I'm going to take with depreciation but I spend 10 hours a day, 6 days a week in my truck and around 40,000 miles a year. Yesterday the temp outside fluctuated between 0 and -3F and all I could think was how nice those heated seats and steering wheel would feel...............So I take it no one else has heard of any planned emission changes for 2011 either?

check with cummins site or on you tube on their ISB engines they are going away from a big EGR system and doing urea injection about that time, they sent me a e-mail titled talk to an engineer, open form ,I wanted to post on here so people could ask them questions about the re-designed 6.7L but didn't know how to post it before it happened, they only gave me about a day to before it was time to ask questions, hard to do when you work 12hrs...I registered mine with cummins and opted for any updates ,tech bulitins etc. from them....on quicksilver?for parts....so once in a while I get e-mails from them... didn't get to learn all about it though, as they are getting ready for the 2014 emissions standards now, I don't know whats going to production and when. the you tube video's are informative at any rate...
