When you lift a truck and add large aftermarket tires and wheels MPG suffers. That's just the name of the game.
As for getting 20 MPG with the DPF delete, my annunciator is showing 18.4 after over 200 miles with just a Volant CAI and Edge. So if 20 MPG is what everyone is getting and I bet they also have a CAI and a programmer and probably only 3/4 ton trucks with single rear wheels that's not a 8 to 10 MPG increase but really only a 1 to 2 MPG increase.
I'm running 4.10 gears so I bet that a 3/4 ton truck owner with the higher geared rear end running the same setup as I "Edge and Volant" would be getting over 20 MPG and that's with the DPF intact.
It's your truck do what you want but please also respect the decisions of other truck owners to do the same. I think I'm proving that we can get decent MPG out of these trucks and still not pollute the air which is once again why I bought a 6.7L and not the 5.9L. I'm also pretty sure that someone is out there right now working on a performance DPF just like they did with the Catalytic Converters. Back in the late 70,s those to were prone to clogging and choked the engine to death and everyone was cutting them off.
Now if I could find some premium Diesel like Vis-a'-vis is running I too would probably be over 20 MPG. (Per the Annunciator)
