I noticed this in your comments:

My biggest problem with my new truck is the regen. It seems to happen whenever you least expect it, doesn't complete itself, and makes the truck run like crap while it's happening. I'm wondering if being able to set it "at will" would make it any better, more predictable and maybe complete cycle? What does idle up do for you, prevent it from loading up and causing regen? I'm new with this truck, so anything you can tell me will be helpful.
