Back to Dodge
Hey guys,
New to the forum and the proud owner of a new 2011 Dodge 2500, Crew Cab, 4x4, ST, manual 6 speed. Has cloth seats, power lock and windows, cruise and carpet. All I need in a truck. Had a 2009 Ford F250 4x4 Lariat Superduty Crew Cab. Will have to say the Ford had more "toys" on it, but there is no comparison between the Ford and the Dodge. Dodge seems to have done thier homework on this truck. Only have about 750 miles on it, but already it is getting 14-16 mpg around town and 17-18 on the highway. Only been on the interstate once so far, but was consistently getting 18-19 mpg at 75 mph. The ride is much better as is the driving and handling. Love the truck.
The Ford would intermittently blow white smoke out of the exhaust, never got over 15-16 mpg in the best conditions. Was also prone to suck water in the air filter during heavy storms, lose power and really wjite smoke. Never abused it. Only pulled a 16 foot trailer with a 50 horsepower farm track on it. Only 27,500 miles when I traded it. The dealer gave me more for trade in on the Ford than the Dodge was on sale for. Couldn't have made a better trade.
Once owned a 2000 Dodge, 5.9 Cummins, 4x4, 6 speed manual, regular cab. Regretted getting rid of that truck and going to Ford. But as they say, you always come back to the best. As a previous poster said, If the v-8s are so great why are the not in the OTR semi trucks.
