I bet that the dealer/shop didn't even blow out the transmission lines, cooler and heat exchanger? More often than not, its just to replace the filter. If you fluid is burnt out, you'll have more maintaince to worry about. I do my own maintaince when ever I can.

Most aftermarket converters have drain plugs.
