You won't get a message when it's in regeneration. The only way to tell is if you have a Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT) Gauge because the temp will rise. When Towing it may never go into a forced regeneration but rather a passive regeneration is taking place because when loaded the EGT is already hot enough to clean the DPF. As for the CCV I found out early that if you wait for the warning on the display you waited to long to change it. Cummins 6.7L Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) Filter Change
