If she's being worked it doesn't matter to her, 1st or 6th gear she'll be happy. What the 6.7L doesn't like is stop and go traffic and just ideling around. You might entertain the thought of a Hemi for medium and light duty and keep the 5.9L for real work so you can have the best of both worlds without the worry of clogging up the DPF if the truck does just putt around at times.
