Park brake set, door closed, trans in neutral, cruise on, foot off the brake (that turns it off), hit "set" and the engine should idle up to 1100. Hit "accel" and it will climb 100 rpm at a time, I think it will top out at 1500. Autos don't need the park brake set to operate.
