Well these trucks should last a long time (we have a really drive train) and when time does come to replace mine, guess it will not be Dodge (time will tell). Only reason for buying my truck was the Cummins engine. Would have also gone with Caterpillar engine vehicle if the specs where right.
I will never ever deal with Italian engines made for USA market again (used to be a Ferrari/Fiat Mechanic) and the Fiat engines in the USA was a disaster !! Fiat still has NO experience in the USA going about this all wrong yet again ... Our market is WAY different than Italian and UK. Also I will not deal with a V8 diesel, its need to be a simple inline 6 or inline 8. No reason to increase engine complexity by 35% for no real gain in power and economy. Semi's to this day are still all inline engine and still simple to work with. Designers forgot about the KISS principle !! Fords new 6.7L looks like something from HELL, good luck in finding the valve cover !
Lets face it, the reason that Cummins, Caterpillar, and International are the 5 diesel engine manufacturers is because those engine last, economical, and robust !
Cummins will align with someone else and something new will come about. Meanwhile we have to wait and see what stupid things will happen with Fiat. Being one that has a classic Italian vehicle collection and maintain a historical preservation of Italian Innocenti manufacturer, history proves that time and time again, Italian do some really stupid things when it comes to vehicles (makes me said to say I am Italian at times) and its time for them to repeat the cycle .....
Here is hoping for the best, will stop my ranting now
