Sorry to hear this but there is a reason they are called HEAVY DUTY meaning they were designed to be used hard. Most people would be better off with a gas engine since they rarely use a HEAVY DUTY truck to it's full potential. The only way to keep the sliding vane clean is to create boost and if you aren't towing regularly then you have to accelerate hard on a regular basis and if you're driving in town in stop and go traffic you aren't doing this and the turbo will constantly get sooted up and throw this code.
I never see this code since I stopped trying to save diesel and drive it like I stole it and I have to admit it's a heck of a lot more fun then poking around going slow. I've also never had my Turbo cleaned or replaced in over 60,000 miles and it was one of the first off the assembly line in 2007 so it really isn't the truck so much as drivers who refuse to change to meet the needs of the truck.
