I guess that I should update the above info. In speaking with the service manager at my dealership, just before Christmas, I learned that the recall has not been made and/or released here in Canada. When and if it is made the Canadian recall will have a completely different recall #.
The new flash was released for install on Canadian trucks. It deals with issues relating to soot accumulation as well as some drivability issues. I have not been having any problems in the areas that the new flash addresses, so I elected not to have the flash installed at this time.
As I have stated before, I am very happy with this truck. I am running it presently with a gutted intake tube, a drop in K&N filter and a hole cut in the bottom of the stock intake box. Other than those mods, she is stock including the tires. Mileage on highway runs, has been right around 20 mpg, calculated. Over the Christmas holidays on a run on bad roads, in bad weather, in 4x4 for all but 40 to 50 kms, the truck went 710 kms on 77 litres of fuel. Now the speed was low, no more than 80 kph most of the way but still great ecconomy.
