Welcome to Cummins Ownerz.com
I want to welcome you to a site for 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel Owners built, owned and ran by a 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel Owner.
I purchased my 07,5 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4, 6.7L Cummins with the 6 speed Auto on September 21 2007 and I'm looking forward to sharing everything I learn with all of you and hope to hear from other 6.7L Cummins Diesel owners and those just interested in the complexities of Diesel ownership.
Just read a 2011 truck test. Both the new Duramax and Powerstroke had a BIG advantage in power and it really showed in the towing tests. What will Cummins do in the next few years to compete with these "hotrods"?
Traded in my 2000 2500 5.9L Sport for a 2008 2500 6.7L and after reading all the posts about the DPF, EGR etc. etc. I am not sure I did the right thing?
The 2000 was a 2500 4x4 Auto Sport with a topper and only mod was a Volant airbox.
The 2008 is a 2500 Bighorn bluetec HD Auto stock.
I was looking to upgrade to 4 doors and get a quieter diesel which it is but not getting the same kind of performance as far as MPG go. My 5.9L would get a consistent 16mpg In town driving empty and high 19 goin down the highway empty at 70. The 6.7L never gets better than around 14 driving in town and 16 on the highway.
Read a ton of posts on DPF\EGR delete confused about the best way to go?
I do very little towing if any. Pull a 2 horse trailer occassionaly thats about it.
I want to maintain as much stock parts and operation as I can. I don't need anymore power. I am looking to extend the life of the motor and... [Read More]
Cummins Filtration has launched a new coolant that the company said offers solid liner pitting protection and enhanced aluminum protection without the use of nitriles, amines and phosphates found in many conventional coolant formulations. Fleetguard ES Compleat OAT (Organic Acid Technology) coolant is NAP (nitrite, amine, phosphate)-free formulation, which the company said makes it acceptable to most OEMs around the world.
Cummins Filtration said it conducted extensive testing before the new formulation was approved for the market. All tests confirmed that the NAP-free ES Compleat OAT coolant provides the anti-freeze, anti-boil, heat transfer and corrosion protection required of today’s fully formulated, heavy-duty antifreeze/coolant. The new formulation also meets ASTM and the performance specifications of most major OEMs including those... [Read More]
I got the E-mail from cummins a few days ago to watch the new episode of the show featuring the new model... Well I thought it was an ok show, not quite as informative as I would have liked, but It was nice to see the bottom end components of the 6.7L and the next style fuel filter ,(I wonder how hard it would be to adapt it to my 08?) I was glad to see that the diesel exhaust fluid is not used on the 2010 models (although I hear it will be on the chassis cabs, and that they have a short 2010 run with all being made in 09 as a 10, then the 2011 chassis cabs come out later on in the year?don't know for sure.?) I seen parts of the things the epa wants to do with the trucks running the diesel exhaust fluids and I didn't like it, seemed like another thing they were trying to do to control us and our $, by having a no start condition if the tank for the def is empty and locking fuel cap so if truck is running that no fuel could be added if def tank is empty , on and on....I like the def...
